Embracing TypeScript Strict Mode

How enabling strict mode in our tsconfig caught hundreds of bugs before they ever reached production.

TypeScript is only as useful as you allow it to be. For a long time, we ran with strict: false to move faster. But "moving faster" just meant we were shipping null reference errors to production faster.

Turning on strict: true was painful for a week, but the long-term velocity gains have been immense.
